The Big Fella Gravel Disc

If you are 100kg – 150kg or looking to load your bike up for touring and fear that your factory wheels are not up to the job. You’re going to need the strongest Gravel disc wheels around. Our Big Fella Gravel Disc wheelset is for you.

The Big Fella Gravel Disc wheelset is hand-built in our workshop in West Sussex. Designed with the heavier and the touring rider in mind. We use a high-quality rim and hub combination. These are laced for maximum strength using a 32-hole three-cross pattern for both the front and rear.

Rim tape is fitted as standard and comes with our true-for-life warranty.

The Big Fella Gravel Disc Rim Spec

For 2025, we updated the Big Fella range to now incorporate Gravel into the lineup, using the broader DT Swiss U623 model to accommodate Gravel tyers. This tubeless-ready rim is 22mm in depth and has an internal width of 25mm. The rim is laced with Sapim Black Race spokes and brass black-plated locking nipples for a strong combination.

The Big Fella Gravel Disc Hub Spec

We use our trusted Miche R-DX hubs built to our specifications, and manufactured in Italy. Utilizing x5 double sealed low friction bearings supporting the rear hub and x2 in the front hub. In addition, these hubs can be tailored to your requirements with 8-9-10-11,12 speed Shimano, Sram/Sram XDR or Campagnolo options avaiable. Points of Engagement

– 30 Points of Engagement and 3 high precision pawls ensure quick and safe engagement under the highest of loads.

– Please Note, these hubs are not at load when free-wheeling.

Spokes + nipples

– We use Sapim Black Race spokes and bras black-plated nipples for a quality, durable and comfortable performance.

Note

This wheelset is Tubeless compatible. However, it’s also compatible with standard tyres and Tubes (for this setup, we recommend a valve length of 42mm). Our Tubeless Valves and Sealant kit options are available in the drop-down menu. (Please Note: Tubeless compatible rim tape is fitted as standard and compatible with standard tubes.)

All Strada wheels are covered with our ‘True for Life Warranty’, meaning if you break/bend a spoke/nipple (fault or not fault), we will repair and return the wheel/s.
