The H Plus Son TB14 was inspired by the classic aesthetics of rims from the era when steel frames ruled competitive cycling and benefits from contemporary improvements in rim manufacture and profile design. We have always admired the look of the classic box section rim. From sourcing double eyelets to crafting new molds for the valve badge and its hardware, we dedicated neurotic attention and careful detail to every aspect of this rim.
The pairing of a 23mm wide profile with a 23mm tyre is fast becoming the industry standard for competitive road cycling. The wider H Plus Son TB14 rim adds stiffness and gives a profile that resembles a tubular tyre. The advantage of this rim/tyre profile can be felt immediately when taking corners as the tyre is no longer shaped like a light bulb, flopping over with high loads but more like an inverted U.
Strada says – although not a stiff as a modern “A” shaped rim, the H Plus Son TB14 is a natural replacement for the Mavic Open pro and is a big step forward plus it looks great on classic bikes in need of new wheels. We are happy to build them up with your hubs either NOS (new old stock) or the originals to keep your classic in good riding condition.
The TB14 is made with the stiffer and stronger G609 aluminum alloy and features our unique and invisible welded joint. Rims are anodized after machining and have brass eyelets for additional strength. Available in 32 or 36 holes in polished silver, black or anodised grey.
We can build these H Plus Son TB14 rims with a wide selection of hubs from Chris King, DT Swiss, Goldtec, Phil Wood, Paul Components or White Industries and either silver or black bladed CX Ray or double butted Race spokes from Sapim to match your requirements.
